Uptown.

Upper West Side

The Upper West Side offers visitors the chance to see how Manhattanites live.
Primarily a residential area, the Upper West Side can serve as a great home base for visitors to New York City and is definitely worth exploring if you have the time. Hotels on the Upper West Side often offer better value than many other areas, and also provide visitors with an escape from the hustle and bustle of Midtown and other tourist-heavy areas.
It's conveniently located for exploring Central Park and the American Museum of Natural History, and the many subways and buses make it easy to explore other parts of the city.

Upper East Side

When you think of the upscale residential Upper East Side, the area's wealthy residents, fancy restaurants, and designer stores on Madison Avenue come to mind. It is a beautiful neighborhood with a mix of classic sandstone buildings and luxury skyscrapers. Cultural centers such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, and El Museo del Barrio on Museum Road, part of 5th Avenue right next to Central Park, swarm with crowds.

Harlem

Experience the Rhythm of Harlem...

Famous for its intimate jazz clubs, black-cultural venues, and African-American heritage, Harlem attracts locals and visitors from across the country. Nightlife can be enjoyed in trendy restaurants, stylish clubs and bars. The area's main street, 125th Street, is home to the famous Apollo Theater, chain stores and restaurants, while 19th-century sandstone houses and modern high-rises coexist.
